![]() ![]() I also keep a soft toothbrush handy to give the base a good cleaning. Most of the time, I will try to give these cars a wash without soap or without running that car under the tap.but if you accidentally do, the inside dries out fine. Spectraflame paint is prone to fading when exposed to sunlight for prolonged periods of time!Īlso. If you are washing a car that has a sealed window like the Bugeye or the Porsche P-917 and you get water on the inside.no worries, it will look wet and foggy for a while, but it will dry out just fine in a few hours. Also, if you display your cars, don't do so in direct sunlight. Antifreeze is a great example of a color that often tones. There are certain colors that are more prone to toning no matter what you do or how you store them. in a damp basement! I will say, most of my childhood Redlines WERE stored in my parent's basement for years before I rescued them! Did not affect the at all. Also, store your cars in a nice dry area vs. Just don't put the car back into storage before it's dry. Don't just leave the Goo Gone on your car to dry. I always wipe the Goo Gone away immediately with a damp cloth after I have applied it and the residue is gone. Goo Gone is great for removing decal residue and some "kid paint." I have never had it harm the original paint on the car. I have also used a little car wax on some of my dull, scratched enamels (NOT Spectraflame) Dull enamels really shine up nice. Makes the windows look like new.especially on cars that have a lot of glass like the Beatnik Bandit and the Jack Rabbit Special/Sand Witch. I apply a very tiny amount with a Q-tip, rub it on the scratched window and then buff it out with a soft t-shirt. I have had great results using plastic scratch remover (I use Meguiar's) on some of my windows. Amazing how much dirt comes out of the inside! I will wet the Q-tip and just rub it about on the interior and inside of the windows. I also use Q-tips to get to the interior. ![]()
